ahh... this does sound good, but complicates things. Should there be a global keymap plus an optional per-doc (and even per-record?) keymap that can override specific bindings? For what it's worth, access keys might be worth defaulting, the way lynx does. So instead of World National Local it would display (1) World (2) National (3) Local and then typing (or grafittiing) a 2 would open the National link. I suppose access keys would be best when they exist, but just numbering links from the top of the display (or even labeling them at random) would make reading some channels easier. Yes, I see this as better done in the viewer, since the parser doesn't know exactly which lines will display at the same time.
