Wow! What a superb piece of software. To think I've been using AvantGo all this time. How wonderful to be able to load in pages from my own PC - photos of the family, personal documents etc. etc. Plus all the web to go at too.
You bravely said you'd like feedback so I thought I'd offer you my experieces of getting it going on a Debian distro: The main Debian repository has plucker but not plucker-desktop at the moment. 1) I downloaded the binary rpms for plucker (Debian was still at 1.4) and plucker-desktop. 2) (as root) I used alien -d plucker*.rpm to convert the rpms to debs and then installed them as usual 3) For me (version 1.6) the converted plucker package didn't install /usr/bin symbolic links to the python scripts (the 'proper' Debian package has them, eg plucker-build) 4) The help files aren't unpacked. They are in /usr/share/doc/packages/ plucker-desktop as htb.gz files which need to be unpacked to htb files 5) For me it wouldn't convert images - Error: Runtime error parsing document http://www..../banner.jpg: Error while opening image http://www..../banner.jpg with netpbm Parsing failed. The solution was to download the python-imaging package and put this line into the ~/.pluckerrc file: image_parser = pil2 6) I never did get the pilot-xfer connection to work, but as I use JPilot I just let it copy the files to a directory and then told JPilot to install them at the next sync (echo "file.name" >> ~/.jpilot/jpilot_to_install) Now it's all working wonderfully so there's no stopping me! Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone Peter _______________________________________________ plucker-dev mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-dev
