I am told that Plucker's anti-aliased font support is very slow on pre-OS5 hi-res devices. I don't have such a device so I can't test it. But I do have a version of Plucker that I am hoping is significantly faster for those devices. Could people please test it for me and report back?
The test version is at: http://bugs.plkr.org/file_download.php?file_id=255&type=bug To test, you also need a set of Plucker-compatible anti-aliased fonts. Download the URW package for Sony OS4 from palmfontconv.sf.net Don't even try the test version on OS5--it's probably slower than the old version there. (Of course that will be fixed by the time this code is released.) Thanks! Alex p.s. Mike: this is the portable solution. -- Dr. Alexander R.
