I use the keyboard very heavily myself on my NX. I agree with Mike, but with one reservation. The lookup-by-initials uses printable characters plus backspace. I think we definitely should disable the remapping of these. But we should retain the remapping of all other keys (arrow keys, enter, tab, and anything else that might become available). The rule is sufficiently simple that it doesn't seem to provide inconsistency problems: If the key is used to insert a character (or delete one), it is used for lookup-by-initials; else, it has the same meaning as in mainform (if applicable--not all mainform actions make sense in libraryform). Related question: I could extend things so that when things aren't alpha-sorted, pressing a key moves one to the next document starting with that character.
