Don't you remember what we did 4 years ago? ;-) According to my mail archive you sent me a patch in April 2000 with initial justify support and together we improved that code before it was added to cvs. You had commented out the call to AlignText since it would break for multiline links; I added a check for multilineAnchor to be able to use AlignText again.
