There is... scroll down the page. The snapshots are built nightly (used
to be hourly, but the number of commits has slowed, so I changed it to
nightly, we could probably change it to weekly at this point). 

You don't have to build your own version of Plucker, you just have to
fetch the snapshot .prc files and install them. 

One caveat: Don't forget to use CleanPlkr to wipe your preferences from
an older version, if you're going from one version to the next (1.6 to
1.8 for example).
