"The size displayed by the standard PalmOS "Info" applet will

That would explain the size. The version on the device is v.2006-10-03-cvs. On
the card it's 1.6.2, which makes it appear that they are of different species.
My Zlib=75K, ver= 1.1.4-1. 1.9 is from link from a Palm forum a while back, I
don't have it handy. Actually... I have 1.8 and 1.9 and don't recall which one
I installed.... I'm just happy it works!
btw, I tried moving a plucked document from TX to card via FileZ and found it
is not recognized; do I need to put it into a particular folder?

Pardon if this is covered in the manual; I did not find it there.
I have two items named Plucker on my TX. One shows as residing on "device" and
is 545K. The other is shown resident on my SD card and is 249K. I had
previously done some troublshooting for another issue and copied some files
from card to device, but the size difference leads me to wonder
i. Are these the same file despite showing at different sizes (by a factor of
2) and
ii. Can I delete the one on the handheld and run it off the card?
btw, is the current .prc still 1.9?
thanks
Larry

You're probably looking at two versions of the viewer; one on SD, one in
main RAM. The size displayed by the standard PalmOS "Info" applet will
be all applications registered with the CreatorID of 'Plkr' (viewer +
zlib + docs).

Yes.

The latest released version of the Plucker viewer is v1.8. If you're
running v1.9 from somewhere, it didn't come from the official Plucker
project.

I'd love to know what's in RAM on your device. I have Plucker 1.8 in
RAM on my device, and the size lists at 279KB. The ARMlet version of
Zlib is another 71K. (sysZlib.prc is a shared library and must be in
RAM.)
> ii. Can I delete the one on the handheld and run it off the card?
Sure can. The default location is /Palm/Launcher, as existing
launchers will look there for programs on the card. Some third-part
launchers like Launcher X and AppShelf will let you define other
places to look as well. Apps on the card should show in your launcher
with a little rectangle to the left of the app title, to indicate they
*are* on the card. Plucker will start a bit slower because it must be
copied from the card to RAM to run, but it will work fine.

As David mentioned, the release version is 1.8. Where did you get a
1.9 release?
