Hmmm. I can see the difficulties in the copy/paste arbitrary text. Although
personally, I don't care if images and markup are not copied, I gather in
the above posting that the problem is in accurately (internally) framing
the desired text if the selected part of the screen contains "objects" other
than text. Still, I'll bet there are more than 2 of us who would like to
be able to grab text off the screen without DA's or hacks.

But to re-visit the more special case of URLs:
I would like to re-iterate (re-beg?) that the "External Link" and "Details"
dialogues have both "Copy URL" and "Copy URL to Memo" (or have this
difference resolved as a global setting).

I find it cumbersome to have to go to Memo and re-copy it to where I
want it. Perhaps this will become clearer if I outline my usage:

- Pluck various pages via timer (cron on unix or Task Scheduler on Windows)
- Copy the PDB files to my handheld.
- Read pages at various times (waiting for meetings to begin, waiting for
busses, waiting for the rice to cook, you all know what I mean).
** Some URL's are not included (fair enough). I would like to learn more:
   - Save the URL to memo
   - Either right then ('cause I won't remember to do it later) or at end:
. Fish the URL out of the memo.
      . Delete the memo
. Paste it into Mail (addressed to self - I'll explain why later)
   - Continue reading what's been plucked.
- Next sync uploads (the only thing I do with mail) my memo of URLs.
- A single click on the URL in my mail launches the desired page
(Which is why I put it in Mail to begin with: no copy/paste needed.)

So does anyone else out there do something similar? Is there a smoother,
better way to do this? Copying to clipboard (rather than memo) would
shorten the number of steps a bit. I tried MacroPlay to speed it up
further, but it's not too intelligent. Thanks for any input.
