I have this feeling I should get into the Linux revolution. I have used UNIX but not Linux.
As someone who has installed Linux, can you answer a few questions? I am interested in the following: a.. How compatible is Linux with the plug-n-play hardware? I admit that I don't like fooling with the hardware if I can help it but equally am not sure how easy finding drivers is going to be. b.. What about Palm software? What do you know about Palm on Linux? c.. I am downloading StarOffice so a lot of my work is being taken care of there. Do you have any advice from a jaded Linux user to someone trying to get his feet wet? I typically like the pro versions - Currently running Win2kPro - as I like the extra utilities. My thoughts are to use my second hard disk and plug either the Win drive or the 2.5Gb drive in. I can't have both due to hardware issues (physical space more than anything.) But it will get me up to snuff. Do you recommend Red Hat, SuSE or something else? Thanks for help - Tim _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
