Hi All,

I've managed to get plucker 1.2b12 working in a mostly
stock Mandrake 8.2 install. ImageParser.py was erroring out
on essentially every image until I commented out the
RaiseError associated with the os.popen for image conversion.
os.pclose seems to be returning error conditions even when
the pipe worked correctly. Furthermore, this kludge only works
if I turn on debugging (-V 2, at minimum).

        FWIW, I'm using netpbm 10.8, Mandrake's python 2.2,
with netpbm2 and zlib flags turned on and bpp=16. The resulting docs
look really good.

I temporarily patched the netpbm tools to ensure they all returned
0 on exit, and still had os.pclose returning error codes. Perhaps
this has something to do with Mandrake's version of python? It doesn't
seem to be due to permission problems: root gets the same errors.

        TTFN,

                David
