A new version of the MSW Plucker Desktop is available.

It can be downloaded and assessed from:
http://desktop.plkr.org

There is:

-Plucker distiller is updated to Bill's new update for breadth-first vs. depth-first.
This
fixes the "some pages aren't retrieved" on sites like BBC, sci-fi channel, CBC, etc.
There is
an interace to the switch on channel dialog > spidering tab.

-An upgrade to python 2.1 and the latest PIL (Python Imaging Library), and upgrade to
new pil2
image parser for Plucker. This solves the issue of larger, linked images not being
included,
and also the stopping of the progress dialog with images and verbosity=2. It also
gives better
image reduction: have a look at look at mobile.theonion.com "What do you think?"
portraits at
1bpp: actually recognizable faces. For this initial version, a large part of the
python2.1
modules are included; after a period of initial testing, the modules that aren't being
used
(Tck/tk, gopher support, etc) will be removed to make the download more compact.

-UI element for status_line_length, also on channel dialog > spidering tab. This sets
the
length of URL truncation in progress dialog/console display.

-UI element for reduction method for converted images >60kb. To reduce the image to
under the
60kb limit, you can choose to reduce its depth or its dimensions. In channel dialog >
images
tab.

-Help updated.

-A few minor fixes, like stayondomain insertion on the hyperlink dialog in HTML
editor, and
some showcase entries updates, have also been done.

Best wishes,
Robert
