Adam, As I say, I installed the _binary tarball_ on Linux. Actually, plucker_bin-1.2.tar.gz from http://www.plkr.org/index.plkr?a=dl . As per the Plucker manual, I typed from the unix directory as root: # ./install-plucker and accepted the default values offered. This command did not log any output to /var/log/messages. I have not touched $HOME/.plucker/home.html . For the purpose of initial test, I have left this file as is. As per the Plucker manual, I then ran: $ plucker-build Again, no errors reported in /var/log/messages. Then I typed in the following exactly: $ python /usr/local/src/plucker-1.2/parser/python/PyPlucker/Spider.py -v -f PluckerDB . Note the -v option. (The manual sez -v2 but this had failed.) No errors reported. A file $HOME/.plucker/PluckerDB, of 476845 bytes was created. Pressed Hotsync and ran: $ pilot-xfer -i $HOME/.plucker/PluckerDB.pdb which responded: Please press the HotSync button now... Connected Installing PluckerDB.pdb [ 476845 bytes | 476845 total] Time elapsed: 0:00:20 BTW, I find that 20 seconds is not a long time for 476845 bytes. I use a USB cradle and it is serviceable. At some point in this process, I don't know when, launcher icons appeared on the Palm for Plucker and for PluckerUserGuide. Furthermore, after having done a hotsync, the following entry appears in $HOME/.jpilot: viewer_en.prc 101916 bytes, and in $HOME/.jpilot/backup: Plkr-Plu~ide.pdb 652 bytes PlkrDocList.pdb 468 Plucker.prc 101916 PluckerDB.pdb 487338 PluckerUserGuide.pdb 145291 ZLib.prc 31230 The Palm reports "Free space remaining is 4.9M of 7.7M". -Robert -- Robert March St Andrew's House L'Orignal ON K0B 1K0 _______________________________________________ plucker-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-list
