Jump in and at least make a comment, but if you have tried both and one works, one doesn't, then correct it and leave a comment as to what it was before. If you visit again later to help and no-one's complained, elide the comments from the first visit and do the same again. That's what I'd do anyway. I'm no authority, just vocal.
