Hi,

I just released JPluck 0.8. This version adds a huge number of important
fixes and enhancements. Speaking of versions: I changed the versioning
because it looks like it will take somewhat longer before JPluck reaches 1.0
status. The previous release was "1.0 beta 3".

The highlights in this release are:
- Many bugs fixed with HTML parsing.
- Improved image handling.
- Support for Rule Filters for filtering URLs from the spidering process.
(Plucker Desktop calls these Exclusion Lists.)
- Option to view the Log messages after downloading. (Look under View->Log.)
- Fix for HotSync integration with older versions of Palm Desktop.

Note that the existing JPluck configuration is obsolete. JPluck X now stores
its settings in <user home>/.jpluck (instead of <user home>/.jpluckx). You
will have to add a new Device and reenter any proxy settings. I won't change
the configuration format again. Note that existing JXL Document Lists
created with earlier versions still work.

For those unfamiliar with it: JPluck is Java-based toolkit for creating
Plucker documents. It includes the JPluck X GUI for managing and downloading
sites. JPluck requires Java 1.4 and runs under Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP,
Linux, Mac OS X, and Solaris. (For Mac OS X you need the JDK 1.4.1 Developer
Preview.)
