I guess I was confused... I thought I read that you could schedule this is another post. But it must have been Plucker and not JPluck.

The update no longer finishes its tasks without needing to be force quit. Basically the operation freezes during document generation. This has happened now on two different sites. I am using Java 1.4.1 r6 and OS X 10.2.3 though yesterday I had 10.2.2 and it also crashed out in the same process.

How exactly do you schedule this? Other than a few buttons on the UI there does not seem to be an obvious way to handle this.
I don't understand the question. PlkrData is not something you'd want to schedule.

To grab web content, you'd want to use Plucker, probably under Plucker Desktop or in the guise of JPluck.

But all of these require configuration... you wouldn't just grab BBCNews because it's huge and gives you lots and lots of graphics and data that wouldn't fit on your palm. There are special sites out there that you can configure into any of these tools, but that's a bunch of data.

PlkrData provides a way to move that configuration data around. You can import and export from Plucker/Plucker Desktop and import into JPluck. (No export yet; JPluck is very new.) You can download channel configuration data (.plkrdata files) from the web (right now just on the PlkrData website, but more will come) into your Plucker tool of choice.

So you wouldn't want to schedule PlkrData, just Plucker or JPluck.

PlkrData V2 Beta 3 is now out at: http://plkrdata.sourceforge.net/

PlkrData is a small utility for importing and exporting channel data. "Channels" are the way Plucker refers to web-site presets; they define the URL, the name of the resulting channel, the depth, and so on. With PlkrData and the correct files on the web (some samples can be reached from the project webpage), you can add channels to Plucker Desktop or JPluck with a simple point-and-click from inside your browser.

PlkrData can also convert from Plucker.ini and .plkrdata format to JPluck's JXL format.

The features new to Beta3 of Version 2 are:
Can import every channel from a .plkrdata or from Plucker.ini, to another INI or to JXL files. (* channel)
Support added for inclusions/exclusions in JPluck JXL files.
The new files, but not the new commands, were on the page. That's now been fixed. Thanks to those who let me know!
