Hi,

I just released JPluck G 1.0.

JPluck G is a command-line tool for generating an image gallery as a Plucker
document from a directory of JPG, GIF, PNG and SVG files. While it is meant
only as a tool for testing image conversions, it is pretty useful in its own
right. Because of its limited appeal and scope JPluck G will not be
maintained much, though.

This release is an updated version of the command-line Gallery that was
bundled with JPluck prior to 0.8.6. New in this version is the ability to
handle SVG images, courtesy of the Batik toolkit from Apache. (The inclusion
of Batik also explains the rather large distribution size.)

SVG image conversion is a particularly useful feature and might find its way
into a future release of JPluck X. Because SVG graphics are scalable they
can be optimized for handheld display. An example would be downloading
weather information in XML format and rendering the data as a graphic.
(Think of a thermometer and sunny/rainy/cloudy icons.)

You can download JPluck G and some sample galleries to try out here:

Let me know what you think.
