A week ago I reported this problem I was having with Wired News on a
Handspring. Connie Sadler suggested,

...for a while this seemed to work, but then crashes became chronic again.
I've tried something else, which is working fine now -- I've deactivated the
plucking of images (the default setting with Plucker Desktop). No crashes so
far.
