I have a USB SM card reader, but in the past when I've used it, it doesn't
seem too reliable. I've copied many files at once and have had to reformat
the card because I put it back in and it doesn't see the card.

When I've done Pinstall, everything is there after the reset. It's just a
PITA to have to reset it each time. I guess it's a matter of us still using
"outdated" and now "obsolete" hardware and OS. I've decided that the Visor
Pro was the last Handspring purchase I ever make. It may end up being the
last Palm OS purchase I ever make also. Unless there's something that
really "wows" me.

I have a Visor Pro and a PiTech MemPlug CF, and I have PInstall, but I
_don't_ try to hotsync to the card. (I get a fatal exception during
"Synchronizing SyncVFSHelper" when I try it.) I have a USB card reader. I
pop the card out of the MemPlug, put it into the reader, and plug the reader
into my powered USB hub. The card shows up as drive F:, and I use standard
Windows tools to place files directly in the appropriate directories.

When you use PInstall, does it successfully install to the card, even if you
have to reset afterward, or do you get an exception during sync too?

Meanwhile, I highly recommend a USB card reader. They are cheap (around
$20), incredibly convenient, and let you use standard tools to access the
card and repair problems.

My next step will be a 256MB CF card to replace my 128MB card. With 48MB of
Plucker files and counting, not to mention everything _else_, I'm running
out of room...
