Not at the moment, though it is a somewhat trivial addition to make. There would be a option in the preferences to turn this on and off. Likely it would be combo'ed with an invisible top-level frame for Macintosh, as on a Mac, according to that OS's UI rules, you should be able to close the main frame but still have the app running with a menubar at the top. You can add a feature request onto bugs.plkr.org if you so desire, to monitor progress.
