Laurens--I hope to implement multi-images eventually, along with all the other nifty things in plucker 1.4. However, right now I'm just going to focus on getting the current feature set (and other planned features, like history and autoscroll) stabilized.
Ultimately, I'd like to reengineer the plucker file format and make a vade mecum-specific format. Not that there is anything wrong with the current format, but it is too specific to Palm devices and their limitations, like record sizes and available fonts (IMO---I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this, and certainly am not inviting a flame war). This would, of course, make it so that the plucker viewer itself would not be able to read the files, but it would allow the reader to get around the 32k barrier, as well as add things like indexes, external document links, arbitrarily large images (without needing the multi-image trick), and so forth.
Hopefully that will all get done before the end of summer, when I have to go back to school...
