I suspect the solution to this is to install the _high resolution_ viewer_en.prc which you can get from: hires.plkr.org I haven't tried it (no point breaking something which works) but it's quite likely the _low resolution_ version, which is about 8 months old, might not work with the Zire 71 as Palm keeps making slight alterations to the operating system with each new machine that comes out ...
