It was caused by JPluck looking for the user data under Palm Desktop(PD)'s directory, but my user data was placed somewhere else not under c:\program files\sony handheld. After moving back the user data to PD's directory, the conduit installed correctly. I moved the data back and it still work afterwards.
That means at installation the user data must under the PD's directory for now.
BTW JPluck 2's parser has some very good functions that Plucker Desktop's Python parser currently lacks, especially the cache and concurrent parsing functions, which are the main reasons for me to switch.
Also Sun's Java has matured so much that I'm not exceptionally afraid of installing it on my box (such as bringing up the console and taskbar icon and never remove it automatically, inability to handle languages other than English)... : )
The above two functions make Plucker a much better replacement for AvantGo (which I have deleted).
If JPluck 2 got a GUI for configuring JXL (JPluck's channel configurations) then it will be even better!
PS And if Plucker the viewer can render the page faster (no not buying a faster device... haha) it would be great!
Thanks alot to Laurens (the JPluck developer) for his useful and quick replies!
Hail Plucker!
