As always I am amazed by the quality of Open Source software such as Plucker. Great work :)
I found a question in the FAQ that really needs a longer answer -
"3.7 I'd like to use Plucker for (books, reports, etc.) which I sell. Is there any way to protect a Plucker document from theft?
Plucker documents can be built with an 'owner-id', which must correspond to the HotSync ID on a Palm for the document to be opened on that Palm. This is similar to the document-locking schemes used by many commercial sites. Use the --owner-id switch on the parser to do this."
As I understand owner-id is used on Palm OS but what about other OSes, specifically Windows, Mac and Windows CE platform ?
Is there any way of password / user restriction for those platforms ?
Maybe we could implement a GPG key system or something similar ?
I have talked to a few publishers in my country who have expressed a great interest in the Plucker platform, but really need some form of material propagation restriction :( Does anyone have any ideas ?
Thank you in advance :)
Cheers,
