Desktop 1.6 Mac OS X Crashes

I had been using Plucker 1.4 desktop and it worked fine.  I just 
downloaded 1.6.0.0 and now it brings up the Tip of the Day when it is 
first run.  When I hit close on that it quits: "the application 
Plucker has unexpectedly quit."
I tried renaming my old plucker folder in my Library to force it to 
start from scratch (just in case I had a damaged or incompatible 
file).  Then when I started it, it  brought up the startup wizard and 
I went through all that.  And when I was done with the wizard it 
brought up the tip of the day and crashed when I closed the tip as 
before.
So I can't get 1.6 to run at all!

I am running Mac OS 10.2.8.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
