Hi, folks. My name is Evan Prodromou, and I'm one of the founders and
chief technical d00d for Wikitravel, the free, complete, up-to-date
and reliable world-wide travel guide.
http://www.wikitravel.org/
I'm very much interested in making Wikitravel articles available in
Plucker format. That way, Wikitravel readers could download articles
about somewhere they're traveling to, and have the info in the palm of
their hand as they go rambling around.
I'd even like to make it so a Wikitravel reader can have a "shopping
cart" of related articles, add to the cart ("travel book"? "travel
dossier"? I dunno, there's gotta be a better word) as they browse the
site, and download them all at once.
Of course, my _dream_ would be to let travelers actually edit the
articles they download on their PDAs (who knows more about a travel
destination than the person standing in the middle of it?) and upload
the edited versions when they get back to an Internet
connection... <Homer Simpson drooling noises> How cool would _that_
be?
Anyways, I'm very new to Plucker, but a big fan of Free Software (the
main reason I'm interested in Plucker rather than other offline
readers). I just wanted to poke my head up and say hi. Looking for
help, suggestions, ideas, etc. Thanks for a cool tool.
