There is no image handler for the image type.

The Full Plucker Manual has .gif files (or .png files). PNG has been compiled out of Plucker Desktop because on Unix, the library changes, so I'd rather not link in PNG support because of the hassle. Right now you will notice that all the images are XPM (X pixmaps which are just text files of images, since they can be read directly without an additional library).

Can add a bug report to bugtracker asking that the full plucker manual packaged in the Desktop use XPM's (or perhaps gifs).
