Hello

Some time ago I enquired about plucking a huge (nearly 10,000 extensively
cross-linked) site on Windows.

I'd just like to report success where others have failed; in my experience
Plucker/win32 is adequate up to ~3000 pages then slows down exponentially, JPluck has
worked up to 5000 pages and stalls for some reason.

I succeeded by first transferring the whole site using WinHTTrack locally (32
connections!), though Privoxy to modify each page on-the-fly to my taste-- e.g.
refining banners and copyright warnings, JPluck the local tree and transferring the
resulting doc to my palm. Final size no more than 5Mb! And zippy as well.

So:
bnf.org --> Privoxy --> WinHTTrack --> JPluck --> palm

Chris
