Hello,
I want to tell why I don't use Autoscroll feature on Palm Sony CLIE
SJ20 b/w HiRes 320x320. I tested several settings but none of them
are appropriate for good reading.
Conf 1
Jump: 1px
Delay: 10ms
Font: Small
Usability: the speed is too slow for reading but reducing delay is
impossible (0ms doesn't change things), increasing is sensless.
Increasing font leads to reducing of "symbols per second" and
thus sensless too.
Display: beacuse of 'slow LCD refresh', lines is slightly
indistinct and fuzzy while moving.
Conclusion: better configuration but can't use - text speed is too
slow
Conf 2
Jump: 2px (we want to speed up process)
Delay: 10ms
Font: Small or Standard
Usability: the speed is ok now or maybe even too fast.
Display: beacuse of 'slow LCD refresh', lines is very
indistinct and fuzzy while moving.
Conclusion: can't use - don't see letters :)
Conf 3
Jump: 10px and more
Delay: 500ms
Font: Small or Standard
Usability: eyes loose lines
Display: text is blinking
Conclusion: can't use - don't see lines :)
Well, I don't see another promising combinations which allow to read
with Autoscroll. I like Plucker and respect its creators and hope
someday when they have enough time they will implement alternate
AS algorithm.
