From the archive, Bug# 882 was fixed in version 1.6.2. That's true only for
the Non-hires viewer. It's still alive in the Hires 1.8 viewer. The number
of characters that get lost at the left without wrapping into the next line
is equal to that displayed at each line. In other words multibyte
characters apparently are only treated as single byte.
