At one point in time, I thought that one of the search engines -
google, yahoo, or one of the others - was providing search/archival
for mailing lists which didn't have something already set up.

If that is what the issue is here - that what someone wants
is some sort of archival - I suspect that such a thing could
be set up pretty simply.

I was just figuring that someone liked reading messages via their
newsreader better than with their mail reader...
