Wierder and wierder. *I* am running the older version. He's got the new version. Since I only found Plucker about a week ago, I don't know how I got the old, and he got the new. In any case, I haven't beamed anything at all - just tried to convert a small website (on his laptop and on his PDA, all the while plucking my seperatly on my hardware) - which apears to be successful. And all the necessary things to install Plucker, JPluck, etc., even checking the HotSync conduit, and comparing it to the File Manager (from ZLauncher). I mean, the directory exists - Palm/Programs/Plucker, but the directory is empty.

Yes, versions could matter.  My husband runs 1.6 (I think) and I run
1.8.  When I beam plucker documents from my Clie to his, the beam is
successful and it sees it's a plucker file, he accepts it, but when
he goes to the 1.6 plucker viewer, the documents are nowhere to be
seen.  However, if we exchange memory sticks and I copy the files
from my Clie to the right place on his MS (/PALM/PROGRAMS/Plucker)
then swap cards again, his viewer sees the files just fine.

Beaming used to work for us when we both ran 1.6.
(I've tried to talk him into upgrading, but he seems resistant.)

I don't use JPluck (I use the python parser and sync with
pilot-link) but maybe the problem we're seeing with beaming is
also happening with JPluck.

Laugh -- I just checked the husband's Clie to verify that it was
actually 1.6 that he was running, and it turns out it was actually
1.2-beta8-hires.  That's a bit excessive!  I've talked him into
upgrading, and now 1.8->1.8 beaming works fine.  So indeed it was
the version incompatibility causing the beaming problem.

(And he's happy so far: "Going back from a page toplevel goes back
to the library view.  That's a nice improvement."  I told him there
are lots more nice touches like that in 1.8.)
