1. Can plucker read documents off of the SD card, I am pretty sure it can, am I correct?

Yes, assuming you put them in the right directories. Currently, those are:

            "/Palm/Programs/Plucker/",
            "/Palm/Ebooks/",
            "/Palm/Launcher/"
            "/Palm/Programs/Plucker/Fonts/",
            "/Palm/Launcher/"

2. What is the best way to get the documents onto the SD card? (I use pilot-xfer to move things back and forth from my palm.) I looked at copying them from my palm to the card but it seems the only option is to copy the entire plucker blob. I would prefer to have plucker and zlib on my palm and just the documents on the sd card.

The latest released version of pilot-link can't write directly to SD, but the version I'm about to release, can. It isn't quite ready yet, but it will be soon.

That being said, you can get a program called "FileZ" (free), which will allow you to copy _just_ the documents to/from RAM, Card, beam, send-via-bluetooth, and so on. Its a great little tool. It allows me to keep Plucker in Flash, and my 50+ megabyte documents on SD for reading.
