If the spidering fails, it doesn't create a file.  The
desktop does still suggest that it worked, may change
the date, and does move on to the next channel.

Note that failing to find a few pages isn't a problem, so
the normal reason to fail is that it can't find the *first*
or home page.  

If you have an up-to-date plucker, the most likely causes
are bad proxy information or a bad URL.  (Did you remember
the http://  at the beginning?)
