assert "IsOpened() failed"

Hi.
 
I installed plucker desktop 1.6.2.0 on my notebook machine (It runs great on
my desktop!) and when I try to execute it i get a "Debug" windows with 
 
    D:\wx242\src\common\file.cpp(356): assert "IsOpened() faile." and
altough there are three bottons for three options, the two actuall choices
are to get the same error again, or to quit.
 
I searched the archives, and I saw someone asking for help on this same
issue (I am not even unique!), but could not find an answer.  Any charitable
sould out there who can give a way out of my problem?
