Many people have asked that the current Plucker documentation
manual be updated to match the current revision of Plucker (presently
at v1.8). Quite awhile ago, I took the LaTeX version[1] and converted
it to SGML[2], in the hopes that people would read it, find gaps, and
send me some updates.

        That never happened.

But now with a bit of pushing from a few persistent active
Plucker users, I've put the whole thing in an online Wiki, so anyone
who wishes to help us update and mature the manual can do so.

If you have the time or resources (or know anyone else who
does), please consider helping us get the manual fixed up for the next
release of Plucker. You can find the new wiki here:

        http://code.plkr.org/docwiki/

There are quite a few bits missing, but I've put a good chunk
of pages and chapters into there so far to get it started. Feel free
to cut and paste from the SGML version[2] to this version. Once the
content is in there, its easy to move around, spellcheck, reformat,
and add/remove any incorrect pieces. Having it in a wiki really lends
itself to growing "organically" (as one of the Plucker users puts it).

This will hopefully coincide with a pretty spiffy new website
redesign I'm working on with quite a few neat new interactive features
(all standards-compliant, of course). I've been terribly busy myself
with a lot of clandestine projects as well as my day job at IBM, so I
haven't really made a lot of progress on that front, but I'll be
putting more priority to that effort over the coming days and weeks.

If there are still active Plucker users on this list, or
anyone who knows of a large group of users who would be willing to
help with this task, please feel free to crosspost this request to the
other relevant lists or forums. We need all the able-bodied people we
can get to bring the Plucker documentation up to speed.

I'd like the manual to be as richly-formatted and detailed as
possible, so even our youngest and oldest Plucker users can find the
answers to questions they might have within its pages. Lets all give
it our best effort.

        Thanks everyone.
