If you’ve wanted to run your own mail server, but held back because it sounded complicated, fear no more. In mere days you too can have a GMail-like experience. Using common household tools such as Postfix, Dovecot, and MySQL, you can have a pointy clicky UI for your mail administration and webmail needs. I’ll be showing a demo that utilizes Postfix, Dovecot, PostfixAdmin, Sieve, MySQL, and RoundCube. Account manipulation (creating domains and users) through a webby, webmail, and server side mail filters. All of this is done on FreeBSD but can also be done on others such as Linux, Solaris, or even Irix (if you love pain).
