moin moin, I have to use skype chat ( bleah, bleah, bleah! ) and calling for $dayjob.
Mostly just chat and that's now bearable with the pidgin plug-in. I do have to participate in voice-only conference calls. In the past that worked fine. I had also made a couple of test one to one calls. My connection has been dropping out. Several times during a one-hour call. Most of the calls have been made from an atom box on a cable connection. The entire network connection drops out and it appears that the cable-modem and linksys router have problems at that point. A couple of times I switched to using my Android hotspot from my laptop and things seemed to work fine. Today I started out on that and still had problems. Any suggestions on how to get better reliability out of Skype? I did not check top today, but in the past things didn't get to out of hand on the atom box. If you want to suggest alternatives to Skype please start a new thread :).
