I would give a hearty thumbs up to this list. There are a few of the applications I have not tried, but I use many of them and have tried others. I liked them all.
I used to prefer K3b for ripping and creating and Amarok for playing music even though they bring in some of the KDE libraries. However, my more recent experience is that they have lost ground to Rythmbox and Brasero (just simpler for my needs). Larry Please protect my address like I protect yours. When sending messages to multiple recipients, always use the BCC: (Blind carbon copy) and not To: or CC:. Also remove all of the addresses from the message body before forwarding the message. These simple measures prevent spy programs from capturing the addresses shown in the recipient list and the message body.
