moin moin,

md5sum, sha512sum, etc. work perfectly fine for me :).

Is there a GUI tool for getting the checksum of a file?

I don't see it under file properties on a couple of versions of GNOME. I'm
glad it doesn't automagically calculate the checksums, but it would be
nice to have an option to get them.

I don't see it in the options for the filesystem browser either.

I prefer soemthing in the normal install that I'm overlooking :), but can
work with something that's available in the Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS
repositories.

ciao,
