It’s all about the workload.

If you were thrashing a spinning disc-- I. e. running many disc-intensive 
processes that all want different data-- a SSD will probably do better.


If you’re using a disc in a way that uses it efficiently-- I. e. streaming 
continuous data on and off it, a SSD adds little value.


And if you abuse it-- I. e. using it to hold heavily written swap space-- 
you’re gonna wreck it fast.

I have also found that in deference to their claims some of the SSDs are SLOWER 
than regular enterprise drives.   
I believe this new technology leaves a lot to be desired.
