that is fairly unlikely here as i am at home most of the time (and the room 
mate owns like 9 dogs). I am acquiring another set of three over this next 
month and I already have a box setup for them. 

so, when I leave the hours, my laptops go with (I have a nice backpack that can 
hold them). I stan a far better chance of getting mugged than robbed here.

However your point is a valid one under normal circumstances.
