Can anyone say wasted space?
Or...
Can anybody ask: Why does Michael need a 'boot' partition to begin with?
(my opinion follows, we all know the global opinion about opinions)
There are valid reasons to have a boot partition, like the need to use an exotic filesystem that Linux is either unable to boot or to function from (NTFS for example) The reasons for using an 'exotic' filesystem are many, database specific issues at the top of the list. Other partitions for specific directories (/tmp /var/log) are mostly predicated on guarding the machine against inadvertent 'filesystem fill up', and it was meant to guard boxes with multiple users. You can't regulate stupidity... Point is: why does Michael (or someone like 'Michael') need several specific directories isolated on specific partitions?
Answer?
He doesn't...
YMMV.

if you have any question,
you will get any answer...

The data on my root partition only is about 8 gig. The partition in total
is 48 gig. Can anyone say wasted space? In any case I'm in the process of
shrinking that partition to less than 12 gig. My question is..... is that
big enough?
