Keep in mind that if you will be leaving the box on all the time that a PC will eat about $20 to $30 a month in power while a little dedicated box like this or a roku will only eat a dollar or less in power each month. You would be better off spending the money for the the lower power system since it will quickly pay for it's self.

I've got 2 computers that are working perfectly for my MythTV setup and I've been looking for the right low power machine to replace them even though they are working perfectly just because of their power usage.

Yeah? The box it is replacing is an old IBM NetVISTA which worked great
as my TV server until it had a cascade of failures. Right now I'm using
my father's NUC as the tv server but he is going to want it back at some
point. I can buy an old computer for about the same price as that little
Box so I think I will buy the new box.

Amazon firebox (just got that message)? I'll look into it!

The review from Camy72 would keep me from buying it. However, I
don't know what you are trying to accomplish, so it may be great for
    your application.

Personally, I use an old pc with a big hard drive for personal video
streaming to my TV over my network, and a ROKU box for Netflix,
Amazon, Hulu, etc. Roku boxes are great...they just work, at least
    for me.
