https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExFAT , a filesystem designed for larger SD cards because plain FAT requires a ridiculous or unusable block size when applied to filesystems larger than 32G. It's sort of strange that your distro didn't include the necessary mount helper, but it should be available in the package repository. Do the equivalent of "yum search exfat" or "apt-cache search exfat" to find it.
