The amount of space they waste is so negligible that you would die of old age 
long before the space they take up would matter, even if all you did was view 
PDF's ass day long, but if they bother you all that much, why don't you make a 
script that goes though your system and deletes all the files you don't care 
about and then add it to your list of Autostart scripts so that it gets run 
ever time you login.  That should keep your machine relatively clean all the 
time.
