Unfortunately I live in Tennessee now, so I can't afford the trip.  I'll go with a unicomp keyboard, and keep my eye out for local yard sales whenever they resume.  Never can tell who has a model M sitting in a closet somewhere and will want to get rid of it.

I bought two different Cherry keyboards in different key colors to try to bring
back the old tactile typing experience, paying over $100 each. I don't like or
use either one, and they are like new still. They don't have the old feel, they
are clattery, and I find them not worth the trouble. I understand that gamers
love them.

If anyone is interested I'll make them a deal. I live in Buckeye, come and try
them out.

Do the Cherry keyboards sound and feel like a model M keyboard? I've noticed a
wide range of prices for the Cherry keyboards. If only some models sound and
feel like a model M, which ones?

Get one from Germany. They call them Cherry. Google it. Best keyboard.

Red Cherry switches are probably the closest to buckling springs, but it’s
still very different.
I’d get a Unicomp - good condition Model Ms are hard to come by these days.

MX Cherry Greens as also a good choice for buckling spring keyboard fans. I
have a Das Keyboard 4 with the greens, and I love them. That being said - I
also have a second keyboard attached, as the people on my conference calls
can't stand them.
