Linux System Administrator This is an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity. Candidate will be working in team who is responsible for managing 200+ servers in QA/Staging/Production environment across 4 datacenters. You will be part of 24x7 support team. Duties will include: ** Linux System setup, networking configuration. ** Upgrading operating systems, individual packages. ** Troubleshooting networking, application issues. ** Maintain and upgrade server hardware. Required Skills ** 3+ Years Linux system administrator experience. ** 2+ Years solid experience with Shell/Perl scripting. ** 1+ Working experience with Networking gears. ** Firewall setup/administration. ** Linux Kickstart. ** Oracle administration. ** Hands on experience in working with System monitoring and alerting packages like nagios, cacti. ** Scripting knowledge of either perl/php/shell. ** Working experience in 24x7 environments. ** Expertise in Apache/Application servers is plus. Education ** BSCS or equivalent required. Developer Position Works with technical engineers to find ways to attack new or difficult problems, consults on internal training programs participates in the development of implementation plans and statements of work specifications for assigned projects identifies issues and technical interdependencies and suggests possible changes ability to provide technical leadership at the cross-functional level. Qualifications . Able to initiate and consult on green field technical efforts. Working with key customers in assigned areas to determine or create technical approaches to satisfy needs. . Responsible for technical content of design reviews and implementation walkthroughs. . Takes a leadership role in the technical content of the system specification/unit functional specification. . Formulate capacity plans for client in consideration of scalability requirements i.e. transaction volumes. . Take responsibility for system deployment, configuration and testing covering OS install, network configuration, Oracle database install as well as deployment etc. Qualifications . Strong understanding and hands on experience with networking and enterprise systems architecture. . Network knowledge will need to include network addressing/routing, software/hardware and security with Network design/administration experience viewed most favorably. . 5+ years of Java web application development and/or support experience (Core Java, Servlet, JSP, JDBC) for the Unix platform. . 2+ years of experience developing Web Services interfaces with Strong understanding and hands on experience with XML, WSDL, XSD, and SOAP based protocols. . Strong troubleshooting skills. Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting issues in complex distributed systems using common tools. . Commercial experience with Web Services engines (e.g. Apache Axis). . Commercial experience with Application Servers (e.g. BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere, Jboss, Tomcat, Caucho Resin). . Commercial experience with building web applications for relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and Postgresql. . Strong understanding and hands on experience with writing and work with CGI, erl/Python Script or Java program to invoke services through WSDL. . Experience with MAVEN, ANT, XML & XSLT Parsers, JUNIT, and Perforce is plus. . Experience in supporting high-availability Oracle solutions. . Strong understanding and demonstrable experience with UNIX shell scripting experience. . Strong understanding and demonstrable experience with Solaris. . Strong understanding of PKI. . Experience with EMC Storage is plus. . 10+ years technical practicing experience in internetworking technologies and high volume web applications. . Work is performed without appreciable direction. . Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. . Solve Problems & Make Decisions Interfaces cross-functionally and leads collaboration extending beyond workgroup. . Requires excellent verbal and professional presentation skills. . Able to represent 2Wire by communicating technical business capabilities and strategies externally. . Responsible for technical decisions that will affect project, functional unit and/or deadlines. .
