To Matt being somewhat new can you explain the "dd the first 62 sectors"

"cat /proc/mdstat".  That'll tell you how the softRAID is working and
whether there are any problems with it at that moment.  Please remember
that softRAID doesn't mirror the bootloader.  dd the first 62 sectors of
sda to sdb, and then if sda falls over, you can set sdb as the first boot 
device in the BIOS, 
and then you'll be able to boot from sdb."cat /proc/mdstat".  That'll tell you 
how the softRAID is working and


To JT can you please explain how to install grub on second drive.


That's what we forgot!  to install grub on the second drive.  Oops.  we
talked about it but then I forgot.
