This morning Ubuntu said it wanted to update some stuff so I let it. I
was having a conversation and didn't pay that much attention but I
think it was a bunch of Samba stuff. When it installed the update it
said it waned to reboot so I OKed that. After the reboot, the icon
showing an internet connection was in the no connection state. I
messed with the settings, adding a couple of DNS servers and changing
from static IP to DHCP. No joy. Then for some reason I clicked on the
Firefox icon only to discover that apparently I had actually been
connected all along. I've tried rebooting but I get the same result. I
actually am connected but the little icon says I'm not.

Is there a fix for this? (I really don't care very much).
