This could raise some interesting legal issues. Does one have a 4th Amendment
protection to log data on an ISP's server?
This could be interesting. It may also cause people to change the way they do
things.
There still are hurdles to overcome. Just because the government gets a log
entry that points to an IP does not mean they can do much with it.
I seem to recall some group spoofing someone's IP and causing that person to
get associated with a hacker group. Do you recall that story maybe a year ago?
This could open a who new area for professional witnesses (professional PI's).
